Turmeric Potatoes
Time: 45 min | Difficulty: 1/5 | Recommendation: Weeknight dinner
These potatoes are so easy to make—in fact, they’re the first thing I ever cooked for myself! They’re also really delicious and don’t take much time. Just make sure you wash your pan well after cooking!!
Ingredients/Tools:
2-3 potatoes
Mustard seeds
Urad dal
Turmeric powder
Chili flakes
Method:
Chop the potatoes into smallish, as uniformly as possible. Wash them well.
In a pan, heat up some oil, and add about a teaspoon of mustard seeds, chili flakes, and a 1/2 teaspoon of urad dal.
When the mustard starts to pop (do NOT cover the pan!) add in the potatoes. Stir to coat. On low heat, cover the pan and let them steam up on low heat.
After about 10 minutes, remove the lid and cook the potatoes on medium heat, stirring often. Add in some turmeric and stir more.
When the potatoes are browned and crispy, add salt. Serve with yogurt on the side!
